Elon Musk, Bernard Arnault, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates are considered to be the richest people in the world.
But the house of none of them can compete with the palace of a Muslim ruler, which is said to be the largest house in the world in terms of area. This is Astana Noor Al Ayman, the palace of Sultan Hassanal Balkiah of Brunei, whose name is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest palace in the world. The residence is situated in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei's capital. A few miles south of the capital, on the banks of the Brunei River, this house is painted white, but the golden dome and minaret stand out from afar.
The dome is decorated with 22-carat gold. The Sultan's family resides in this house, which was completed in 1984. It was designed by Khuan Chew while it was built by architect Leandro Locsin. According to an estimate, one billion and 40 million dollars were spent on the construction of this palace.
