A 2022 study found that urban environments or stressful jobs are also contributing factors. Similarly, spending too much time in front of the television or computer increases the risk of myokymia, while drinking too much caffeinated beverages such as tea or coffee can also cause it.
Dr. Cornelius Rene said that myokymia usually goes away on its own within minutes, hours, or days. According to medical experts, if the problem does not disappear in a few days, i.e., if the eyes are swollen for more than 2 weeks and there is an unusual change like a burning sensation, then it may be an indication of a hidden problem. He said that this could be an early sign of diseases like Parkinson's or multiple sclerosis. Due to a brain disorder, the muscles are also prone to tension, which also leads to the problem of eye twitching.
Many times the severe severity of BEB makes daily routines difficult and in such cases a doctor should be consulted so that they can diagnose the cause and treat accordingly. There is no need to consult a doctor for occasional puffy eyes, but following a few simple methods can improve the overall health of the eyes. If you spend a lot of time in front of a screen, look away from the screen for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. According to experts don't forget to blink in front of the screen, surprisingly most people forget to do this in front of the screen, blinking is good for the eyes.
