Heart attacks are a leading cause of death in the U.S., and most are preventable. Stopping smoking and losing excess weight can help reduce your risk.
Exercise regularly for 30 minutes or more each day and eat healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, whole grains, and lean meats. In addition to these basic measures, there are additional steps you can take to reduce your risk of a heart attack.
