Endocrine system illnesses

Thyroid hormones:

Thyroid hormones T3 (T3) and T4 (T4) require iodine.  When there is a lack of iodine, the thyroid gland cannot produce hormones as needed.

This inhibitor stimulates the pituitary gland to release the thyroid-stimulating hormone TSH, due to which the thyroid gland grows in size while trying to make hormones but cannot make more hormones due to iodine deficiency.

For this reason, enlargement of the thyroid gland is called simple goiter.  According to the UNICEF report, 70% of the population of Pakistan is suffering from iodine deficiency disorders (IDD). The rate of affected people is high in the northern areas of Pakistan, Deer Swat, Chitral, and Gilgit.

Affected people are also identified in Jammu and Kashmir, Peshawar, Swabi, Islamabad, Karachi, and Quetta.

Iodine deficiency diseases can be prevented by adding iodine to the salt in the food.

Insulin: Insulin is a hormone that is produced in the pancreas in the stomach.  Starch and sugar intake in the body is necessary to convert glucose into an energy phase.

Cleaning is required for daily use.

When we eat food, starch sugar is converted into glucose in the body, which provides the basic fuel (energy) for all cells in the body. If the body stops making insulin or lacks insulin,

If glucose cannot enter the cells, then the level of glucose in the blood increases. Diabetes Mellitus is caused by the lack of insulin in the body or less.  There are two types of diabetes:

type  2. Diabetes is very common.

(a) Type 1 does not produce insulin from childhood.  People at risk - Obese people who gain more weight - People who are lazy and overeat -

Type 2 diabetes patients in the family - People who do not work hard and do not exercise - Elderly people (Geriatric)  However, type 2 diabetes is becoming more common in children and young adults due to obesity.

can be controlled.  Weight can be reduced by exercise and walking.  In this way, even by losing a little weight of five kilograms, the lack of insulin can be fulfilled.

Further, if necessary, oral etiology pack medicine is started.  Gradually, after some time, the effect of these drugs decreases because the release of insulin from the pancreas gradually decreases.

On this page, patients are treated with insulin injections.
