Do you want to stop smoking but find it difficult?

If yes, the good news is that medical experts have discovered an easy way to help you quit smoking.

A study from the University of Innsbruck in Austria found that brisk walking can help temporarily reduce the urge to smoke. This is the first study to examine the relationship between outdoor physical activity and smoking cessation.

According to the World Health Organization, smoking increases the risk of many diseases including cancer, heart disease, and others.

This study found that if a person wants to quit smoking, 10 minutes of moderate exercise indoors or outdoors can help suppress the urge to smoke.

It also helps in avoiding the symptoms experienced after quitting smoking. 16 people who were addicted to smoking were included in this study.

All subjects were kept from smoking overnight and then asked to walk briskly for 10 minutes exercise of indoors or sit still. Desire to smoke cigarettes before and after exercise and other details were also obtained.

The results showed that 10 minutes of physical activity significantly reduced the urge to smoke while also reducing the severity of withdrawal symptoms.

According to the research, more experiments are needed in this regard, but the results indicate that the desire to smoke cigarettes decreases by 26 minutes after walking outside the house and by 17 minutes after exercising within the four walls.

According to the researchers, several research reports have shown that exercising indoors temporarily reduces the urge to smoke, but this study is the first to examine the effects of walking outside the home.

The results of this study were published in the journal Psychopharmacology.
